Chapter One: Goodbye, Ranma

Kasumi Tendo sighed contentedly. It was another normal day at the Tendo Training Hall.

SPLASH!! "AAAHHHHH!!!" Girl-type Ranma came running into the room. Her clothes were dripping, and a cat was clinging to her shoulder. "Get away from me, Shampoo!" she shrieked.

Kasumi was glad that she kept a kettle full of hot water for just such occasions. She picked it up and poured it over Ranma as she came running by. Instantly, Ranma changed from a girl to a boy and Shampoo changed from a cat to a human.

It was just Ranma's luck that at that moment Akane came into the room. She took one look at Ranma, with Shampoo still clinging to his shoulders, and exploded.

"You two-timing JERK!!!!!" she screamed, and booted Ranma as hard as she could. Ranma found himself getting flying lessons.

Yup, it was just another ordinary day for Ranma. Or, that was how it started-

As he went higher and higher, Ranma reflected that he had quite a nice view from up here. Suddenly, he started and stared ahead of him.

<What in the world is that?!>he asked himself.

Straight in front of him was a large, swirly hole. It looked like a vortex of some kind. The next moment, Ranma found himself flying through it.

Chapter Two: Ranma and the Slayers

"I'm hungry," said Lina Inverse.

"But we just ate two hours ago!" protested Amelia.

"So?" said Gourry. "We're hungry anyway, right, Lina?

THUMP!! Gourry, Amelia, and Zelgadis turned to see what had caused the noise. Lina was sprawled on the ground, and a young man with black hair pulled back into a pigtail lay on top of her.

"Thanks for breaking my fall," he said.

"Get offa me!" Lina yelled at him. "Fireball!"

Zelgadis helped the now slightly charred young man to his feet. The young man surveyed the scene around him.

"Somehow, I don't think I'm in Japan anymore," he said. "Who are you guys, anyway?"

"I am the mighty sorceress, Lina Inverse!" Lina introduced herself.

"And I'm her bodyguard, Gourry," said Gourry.

"And I'm Amelia, Princess of Justice!"

Zelgadis rolled his eyes, contemptuously. "My name is Zelgadis," he said.

"Oh. I'm called Ranma Saotome," said the young man. "I had just gotten kicked into the outer atmosphere by my fiancé,when I went through a weird looking swirly thing and landed on top of you."

Lina looked thoughtful. "Hey, Zel," she said, "what is a weird swirly thing, again? Don't you use those sometimes?"

"A W.S.T.™ is a portal between worlds. The only people to use them, as far as I know, are people from the Weird World. People like Jean, Anne, and Mandy," Zelgadis answered.

"Maybe we could ask them to take Ramen here home," said Lina.

"Ranma!" said Ranma. "My name is Ranma, not Ramen!"

"Sorry," said Lina, not sounding like she meant it.

Ranma turned to Zelgadis. "Could we?" he asked.

"NO!!" cried Zelgadis.

"Why not?" asked Ranma.

"Because that would mean we would have to see Mandy!" Zelgadis shuddered at the thought.

"So? What's wrong with that?"

"If you knew her, you wouldn't have to ask!"

"Well, I don't know her."

"Ignorance is bliss, to quote Anne."

"Come on! Pleeaassee?" Ranma begged. "I'll whine and complain until you say yes."

"And I thought you couldn't get any more annoying!" Lina growled.

"Look who's talking!" retorted Ranma.

"I won't be insulted by a pigtailed boy!" snapped Lina.

"And I won't be insulted by a flat-chested girl!" Ranma yelled back.

"FIREBALL!!!!!!!!!"

Zelgadis shook his head in despair. Even seeing Mandy was better than this.

Chapter Three: Where's Jean?

Zelgadis knocked again at the door to Jean's room.

"Maybe nobody's here," suggested Amelia.

Ranma groaned. "You mean I can't go home?"

Zelgadis opened the door. Then he gasped and pointed. The others looked inside.

"It's another W.S.T.™," said Zelgadis, "and I'll bet that's where Jean went. Come on, let's go!"

With that, the entire group jumped through the W.S.T.™.

"You!" Zelgadis glared at him.

"You!" Kurama glared back.

"Um," Jean looked at her two boyfriends, unsure of what to do.

"How dare you see my girlfriend behind my back?!"

"YOUR girlfriend?!!"

"Knock it off, guys!" Anne stepped between the two of them, then turned to Zelgadis . "Why are you and the rest of your group here, aside from the fact that you wanted to see Jean?"

Ranma stepped forward. "My name is Ranma Saotome," he said. "I went through one of your W.S.T.™s by accident. Now I want to get home. Can you help me?"

"Sure!" said Jean, cheerfully. "I have W.S.T.™ controls in my room. Anne, would you go get them, please?"

Anne nodded and left. Now that Anne was no longer standing between them, Kurama and Zelgadis resumed their argument over Jean, while she tried in vain to calm them down.

"Men!" Mandy snorted. "They are all complete idiots!"

"Hey!" said Gourry. "I resemble that remark!"

"Hn," said Hiei. "And I didn't think it was possible to find someone even more stupid than Kuwabara."

Fortunately, Kuwabara wasn't there to hear that.

"Don't you mean you resent it, Mr. Gourry?" Amelia asked.

Before Gourry could answer, Anne came tearing back with a worried look on her face.

"Jean!" she cried. "The W.S.T.™ controls are gone!

Chapter Four: Bordem is Back

"But they were right here," Jean said, looking bewilderedly at the empty space on her desk.

"Well, they're gone now," said Hiei.

"Thank you for stating the obvious, Hiei." Jean sounded annoyed.

"OHOHOHOHOHOHO!" an unknown voice laughed. Jean, Anne, and Mandy turned around and tensed.

"Bordem Hoggie!" they cried in unison.

"Yes, it's me, and now that I have these," he held up the W.S.T.™ controls, "I can finally destroy the Weird World." With that, he used the controls to open up a W.S.T.™ and jumped into it before either Jean, Anne, or Mandy could grab him. The W.S.T.™ closed behind him.

Ranma sighed, despairingly. "Great!" he said. "Now how am I going to get home? What am I supposed to do?"

"The question is, what are we supposed to do?" Jean said. "The last time Bordem tried to destroy the Weird World, Anne and I almost turned into ghosts. Besides, Fred told me not to let anyone else touch those controls. She's going to kill me!"

"What is Bordem going to use the controls for, anyway?" asked Yusuke, who had just arrived with Kuwabara.

"Well," Anne started off on another of her long explanations, "the main thing that stopped Bordem from trying to destroy the Weird World before, was the fact that he couldn't get there easily. Of course, there are naturally occurring W.S.T.™s to the Weird World and other places, but, not being a Weird World inhabitant, Bordem can't tell them apart. I think after getting lost several times, he just gave up."

"So now," said Jean, "we need to find a naturally occurring W.S.T.™ to the Weird World so that we can kill Bordem and get those controls back. Which means that we need to go to the mall."

"I'm going with you!" said Kurama. He was remembering the last time Bordem had tried to destroy the Weird World. Jean had nearly died.

"I'm going too!" Zelgadis glared at Kurama, who glared right back.

"Why don't we all go along?" said Kuwabara.

"Great!" said Jean. "We can use all the help we can get. Let's go to the mall."

Chapter Five : The Pleasantville Plot

Jean pointed to the W.S.T.™ behind the clothes rack. "Here we are," she said, "a W.S.T.™ to the Weird World."

"How can you tell it's to the Weird World?" asked Kuwabara.

"We're from the Weird World. We can tell these things," said Mandy. "After you."

"Fred!" Mandy gasped in horror. For a moment, she stared at her employer, who was tied to her chair. In front of her, a TV was showing a video of a black and white 50's show, one of those stories about a perfect family.

Jean, Anne, and Mandy gasped and made choking noises. Zelgadis and Kurama both ran to bend over Jean, who had just collapsed on the floor. Hiei, who was helping Yusuke hold Anne up, heard her gasp, "turn-it-off."

Lina ran over and pressed stop on the VCR. Mandy, who had been rolling on the floor in agony, stopped and lay still, panting. Jean reached up and griped Kurama's shoulder with one hand, and Zelgadis with the other. She used them as leverage to pull herself into a sitting position. Anne gripped Yusuke's arm and used it to steady herself. Fred blinked.

"What was that all about?" asked Gourry.

"That video, it was so normal," Jean gasped. "I couldn't take it."

"Untie me!" yelled Fred.

Mandy got up and hastened to untie the angry goddess.

"What happened?" asked Yusuke.

"Where's Rutheford?!"

"Just tell us what happened!" Anne growled.

"I was just sitting here, doing paperwork, when a W.S.T.™ opened up behind me. Bordem Hoggie jumped out and tied me before I could even call out. Then-" she paused, "then he started playing that video. I think he is planning to do the same to everyone else in the Weird World."

"Could he do that?" asked Yusuke.

"Sure. With those W.S.T.™ controls, he could go all over the Weird World in a matter of minutes." said Jean.

"But what is with the tape?" asked Lina.

"Did you ever see that movie, ÎPleasantville'?" Anne asked.

"No," said everyone, except Amelia, who they had somehow managed to ditch on the way to the Weird World.

"Well," Anne said, "I didn't either. But I did see the previews for it. It started off with this TV show called "Pleasantville" about perfect family with a mother, father, brother, and sister, who never had anything bad happen to them. Stories like that are just so normal. They upset our balance of weird. Watching them long enough will kill us. If Bordem can manage to kill everyone in the Weird World, then the Weird World will just disappear."

"So, what do we do now?" asked Kuwabara.

"We need to free everyone in the Weird World," said Jean.

"But that could take hours!" Mandy wailed. "Everyone would be dead by then!"

"Fred, can you shut off all the electricity in the Weird World?" asked Kurama. "That would shut off all the videos and give us time to rescue everyone."

"Great idea. Kuwabara and Ranma, come with me. The rest of you, start untying everyone. Report back here when we shut of the electricity to pick up Ranma and Gourry."

Chapter Six: And Just When We Though Things Were Getting Better

"We'll have to split up into groups," Anne said. "Lina and Zelgadis can use levitation to get around, and Jean, Mandy, and I can each take a passenger. Unfortunately, there are four passengers. That leaves someone with no way to get around."

Zelgadis sighed. "Lina and I can take Gourry with us ," he said.

"Great!" Anne said.

"I'm going with Jean!" Kurama announced.

Mandy glared at Hiei and said, "Yusuke's going with me."

Anne sighed. Mandy annoyed her at times like this. How could she be so cruel to Hiei? "I guess you're with me again," she said to him.

"Where to?" asked Yusuke.

"I dunno. Let's start by freeing Stephanie. Just be careful. She's an evil fairy. She might turn you into a frog and make you kiss a man to change back."

"Better than kissing you," Yusuke muttered, but Mandy heard him.

"I'm glad you think so!" Mandy said. "I'd rather leave you as a frog, anyway."

"How would I be able to help you if I'm a frog?" Yusuke asked.

"Who said I needed help?" Suddenly Mandy stiffened. "Listen!" she hissed. From ahead of them, Yusuke could hear someone yelling and thrashing about.

Mandy landed the spatula and ran into the room that the noise was coming from, with Yusuke right on her heals. Bordem Hoggie was trying to secure a girl with blue and silver streaks in her hair to a chair. Though her wand lay out of reach, Stephanie was putting up quite a fight.

When Bordem saw Mandy and Yusuke, he grabbed the W.S.T.™ controls and used them to escape. But before he left, Stephanie cast a spell on him.

"I'll catch you!" she screamed.

"He's gone, Steph," said Mandy.

Stephanie gave an evil grin. "He won't escape me," she said confidently. "I cast a tracking spell on him. Now, where ever he goes, I can find him. He'll regret messing with me!" With that, she flew off.

Hiei watched the Weird World pass below him from the back of Anne's spatula. The last time he had been here, the place had been a mess. It looked much better now, and much more weird. But then, it was the Weird World.

Anne landed her spatula and went into one of the buildings. Hiei followed. "Erin, are you in here?" Anne called.

Suddenly, a W.S.T.™ opened in front of them. Bordem Hoggie jumped out. He realized that his choice of destinations had been poor, but before he could go through the W.S.T.™ again, Anne had tackled him. The W.S.T.™ controls flew out of his hand.

"Grab them, Hiei!" Anne cried.

Hiei leapt over the struggling pair to pick up the controls. Then he turned back to help Anne. She had her ears laid back against her head and was trying to claw Bordem's eyes out. Suddenly Bordem slammed into her, knocking her backwards. She hit the fuse box in Erin's house, and was electrocuted.

Hiei had once heard Mandy say, laughingly, that she wondered how much electricity it would take to make all of Anne's hair stand up straight. Even now, it wasn't quite straight in the air. However, there was certainly enough electricity going through her body to kill her. She hit the floor with a thump.

Chapter Seven: Stephanie's Revenge

Hiei ran past Bordem to pick up Anne, who lay motionless on the floor. He ignored Bordem's triumphant laughter. His only thought was, <she's not breathing!>

Suddenly, he heard a loud cry of, "BIPIDY BOPIDY BOO!!" and a choking noise. He turned around just in time to see a girl with blue and silver streaks in her hair flying off with a frog in one hand. "Revenge will be MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!" she cried in triumph.

Hiei picked up Anne. He knew that he should probably take her back to the Goddess Fred, but he had no idea how to get there. Suddenly, he realized that he still had the W.S.T.™ controls in his hand. He spent a minute figuring out how to use them, then opened a W.S.T.™ to the Goddess Fred's office, and carried Anne through it.

Jean, Kurama, Mandy, Yusuke, Zelgadis, and Gourry had just arrived in the office.

"Great work, Fred!" said Jean. "Now that the electricity is off, we have lots of time."

"But I didn't do anything," Fred said, sounding confused.

"WHAT?!!"

"Bordem must have thought of our plot before we did, because the circuit breakers were locked. We were trying to figure out how to open it, when all the electricity went off," Ranma explained.

Just then, a W.S.T.™ opened, and Hiei entered, carrying Anne. He laid the Weird World guide down on Fred's desk. Yusuke looked sick.

"Is she-dead?" he finally asked.

Hiei nodded. "She must be. No one could survive that."

Jean began to cry. Mandy just stared at the body in shock.

"What happened?!" Fred demanded.

"Bordem Hoggie threw her against a fuse box, and she got fried."

"So that's why the electricity went off," said Lina, to no one in particular. For once, no one in particular didn't answer.

At that moment, the door to the office was flung open, and a triumphant Stephanie marched in. "I got him!" she cried. "I finally got that creep! Now he'll get what he deserves!"

"Who have you got?" asked Gourry, who was, as ever, confused.

"Bordem Hoggie. I turned him into a frog. That'll teach him to try and tie me. I told you I'd catch him!" She paused, and glanced behind Fred. "Oh, hi Anne," she said casually.

"Hi, Steph," Anne's voice answered from behind them.

Everyone swung round. "Anne!" they all gasped.

"You-you're alive!" cried Hiei.

"Of course!" Anne said. "I'm a cat demon, remember?" I have nine lives. Actually, I only have about six now. Or is it five? Oh, well, it doesn't mater right now. I observe that Stephanie has the hog, or, should I say, the frog, but what became of the W.S.T.™ controls?"

"They're right here. Hiei brought them back," said Fred.

Mandy looked disappointed. "This means that I don't get to reincarnate you, huh?"

Anne glared at Mandy. "I sincerely hope that Fred wouldn't let you do that anyway, right Fred?!" She turned the glare to her employer.

"Um, yeah, right," said Fred, uncertain how she could have stopped Mandy from doing that.

While all this discussion was going on, Bordem Hoggie jumped out of Stephanie's hand and began to hop frantically around the office. For a few minutes, chaos reigned while everyone tried to catch him, tripping over each other and cursing in the process. Then Bordem hopped out the door.

"Oh, man! The creep got away!" complained Lina.

Stephanie sighed. "Oh well," she said. I was planning to turn him into a can of spam, but he'll still have problems in his current form. He has to kiss a guy to change back to normal."

"I think I'll cover my mouth whenever I see a frog from now on," muttered Yusuke.

Chapter Eight: Things Are Back to Weird

"Bye, everybody!" called Ranma, before he jumped through the W.S.T.™.

"Bye, Ranma!" everybody called back. The W.S.T.™ closed behind him.

"Good riddance!" growled Lina.

"I take it you two didn't get along very well," said an unknown voice.

"Rutheford!" the Goddess Fred cried with delight. "You're safe!" She ran over and began to have a *censored* scene with him

"Geez, Fred," Mandy piped up unwisely, "don't you think that you two have swapped enough spit already?"

BAM!! Mandy lay on the floor, twitching, as Fred and Rutheford resumed their kiss.

"All right, time to send the Slayers home," Anne said, opening a W.S.T.™ for them. Lina and Gourry jumped through immediately. Kurama watched, steaming, as Zelgadis got a goodbye kiss from Jean, then followed them.

"And now, you guys."

Kurama's mood improved a little when Jean gave him a goodbye kiss too. The rest of the team waved goodbye and jumped through the W.S.T.™.

Anne sighed. "And now," she said, "things are back to normal."

"Mandy," Mary asked, "wasn't it stupid to ask Fred that?"

ZOICK!! Mary was covered in orange goo. Anne sighed.

<Then again,> she though, <this is the Weird World.>

Far, far away, a frog barely managed to avoid being squashed by a car. "Dang that stupid Fairy!" though Bordem. He jumped into the water in the ditch by the side of the road, and landed next to the ugliest female frog he'd ever seen.

"HELP!" he tried to call, but it came out as a frog's croak. That only seemed to encourage the other frog-

Stephanie had her revenge, all right.
