Part of my second project for Painting. I decided to paint several small canvases featuring blood cells, as blood, blood counts, etc., have been an important part of my life (beyond the norm, I mean) for the past five years. When I was still going through chemotherapy, and for a few months afterwards, I had to have blood draws twice a week so that my counts could be checked and my coumadin (the blood thinners I was on) levels adjusted accordingly. As it turned out, I didn't order enough canvases of the size I wanted (I got six instead of nine), and I couldn't find three more in the stores before my project was due. I ended up doing something slightly different from what I'd originally planned as a result, and really I ended up with two paintings instead of one, but I'm still pretty pleased with both :D
