Date: June, 2002 For my AP Studio Art class, I had to write a short report on a famous artist and then create my own piece of art in the same style as my chosen artist. I chose to write Abbott Handerson Thayer, and since I really liked his paintings of angels, I painted an angel. However, since I swore off of oil paints when I was in eleventh grade, I had to use acrylic paint. I really like the dress, wings, and most of the background (the sky scanned in funky, it's really not grey on the top left (your right) edge), but I can't stand either the hair or the face. The hair looks like it's all one solid mass, and the face is all skooshy pink. Blah. I didn't even get this painting back until fall 2002 when I was visiting my old teacher everyone else got theirs the last day of class, but since I had a doctor appointment that day... |
